IMPORTANT Application Details: These mesh grilles are for the 2002 – 2004 (approx.) model ONLY, this model can be easily distinguished by its slightly larger grille. If you look through the images above, you can see that the vertical measurement from inside the grille frame below the badge to the inside of the grille frame at the bottom of the grille is approx 300mm. Also this model has a badge with the Jaguars face ONLY as pictured below, without the word JAGUAR at the bottom of the badge in small text. Whereas the later model that was released in 2004 has a vertical measurement of approx. 280mm. And this later model has the circular badge with the word JAGUAR in small text as shown below. If this matches your car DO NOT order these grilles.
Will Fit: From 2002 to mid 2004, Jaguar fitted a badge to the top of the grille frame. This badge shows only the jaguars face, WITHOUT the word ‘Jaguar’ at the bottom of the badge in small text, and WITHOUT the circular surround (as shown in the image of the silver car). This is shown in the images above.
Will Not Fit: Part way through 2004 there was a more substantial face-lift. This can be identified by it’s badge, which HAS the word ‘Jaguar’ at the bottom of the badge in small text, and has a circular surround.
(Also Will Not Fit the S-type R)
Fitting: This grille comes with full, easy to follow fitting instructions complete with numerous helpful fitting photographs.
Because this lower grille sits in front of the existing grille assembly, this means that it requires a precision laser cut & visually attractive stainless steel rim. This rim then has an EPDM rubber edging applied all the way around it, to prevent the rim from scuffing the paintwork and also to give the grille a snug fit into the lower grille mouth. It has 6 laser cut stainless steel brackets (& stainless bolts & nyloc nuts) that hold it firmly in place.
Some other after market lower grilles are fitted my means of bolts that are visible on the front of the mesh, (simply to cut down on the fitting time): – We were not happy with this method because 1) we did not want the bolt heads to be visible on the front of the mesh, 2) with the ‘bolt on from the front’ method, the grille could too easily be stolen, 3) we wanted the grille to be held firmly & securely in place when fitted, and the only way to achieve this is to remove the front bumper and have the bolts only accessible from behind the bumper. Our step by step fitting instructions & photographs explain clearly how to remove the bumper & complete the job, however customers that have use of a hydraulic / post car lift have fitted the grille without removing the bumper.

Electropolishing: Electropolishing is not electro-plating or chrome plating (both electro-plating & chrome plating actually deposit a coating on the surface of the metal, but as you probably know coatings or platings can be chipped off) Electropolishing is electro-plating in reverse. Instead of depositing a coating of another material on a surface, the action of electropolishing is to remove a surface layer, typically 20-40 micro-metres in depth in the case of stainless steel. The result is that the electropolished stainless steel surfaces become bright and highly reflective. This results from the removal of an often contaminated surface layer and the electrochemical action of micro-smoothing. The advantageous features resulting from such a bright and smooth surface are many. The passive oxide layer, which is essential to prevent stainless steel from corroding, cannot be improved upon following electropolishing. By reducing the total surface area, a result of micro-smoothing, particles and contamination are less likely to adhere to an electropolished finish. After electropolishing the surface if the stainless steel can be cleaned and kept clean more easily. The highly reflective bright finish is ideally suitable to exterior vehicle trim & grilles.
